Hai Che
Hai Che is Assistant Professor of Marketing at the Haas School of Business, University of California at Berkeley. Before his Ph.D., he worked in banking at Fuji Bank, Shanghai Branch.  Professor Che specializes in using marketing research methods to evaluate the effects of both consumer choice behavior and firm marketing strategies. Recently, Professor Che has studied the effects of consumer choice dynamics on pricing in the consumer packaged good industry. His studies show that accounting for consumer choice dynamics by using more sophisticated and advanced research methods could allow firms to increase prices as well as improve profits.

Professor Che’s other research spans in pharmaceutical, automobile, and insurance markets, as well as in political advertising campaigns. His research has appeared or is appearing in leading marketing research journals such as Marketing Science, the Journal of Marketing Research, and Marketing Letters.

Professor Che teaches the MBA and EWMBA elective "Marketing Research" in the curriculum of the Haas School of Business, and has been a "Club 6" member since 2004. Professor Che received a B.A. in Economics from Fudan University (Shanghai, China), a M.A. in economics from the University of Toronto (Canada) and a M.B.A and a Ph.D. in marketing from Washington University in St Louis.



JONATHAN GOLDBERG

Jonathan Goldberg is an analyst with Deutsche Bank Securities Equity Research Team. Mr. Goldberg has been with Deutsche Bank for over three years. Prior to the that he was a member of Lazard's Generalist M&A Practice. Mr. Goldberg has spent over seven years in China and Hong Kong with roles in finance, marketing and corporate strategy including positions with Peregrine Securities in Hong Kong and Coca-Cola China in Shanghai. Mr. Goldberg has a B.A. In Asian Studies from the University of California, Berkeley and an IMBA from the University of Chicago, Graduate School of Business.


JAMES PARK
James joined Samsung Ventures America in late 2006 and focuses primarily on digital media related technologies, mobile handset software and mobile services investments.  Prior to joining Samsung Ventures, James was a business development manger for Samsung Mobile where he managed the launch of several key products, most recently the Samsung Blackjack. In addition, James worked in other Samsung divisions including Digital Media and Semiconductor.  Before joining Samsung, James held engineering positions at the General Electric Company as a controls system specialist in their Power Generation and Aircraft Engines business units.  James is a graduate of the Kellogg School of Management (M.B.A.) and the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (B.S. Mechanical Engineering).


VOYTEK SIEWIERSKI
Before joining MCVP team Mr. Siewierski was an Executive Director at NTT DoCoMo including 6 years in Japan and 3 years in the UK. After participating in the carrier’s IPO at Tokyo Stock Exchange he coordinated DoCoMo’s international technology partnerships including the partnership with Sun Microsystems that brought Java to mobile phones. Developed a number of successful value added mobile services with partners such as Walt Disney Corporation, Warner Brothers, CNN and others.

Mr. Siewierski executed a number of international equity investments in cellular carriers in Europe and Asia and initiated a number of technology licensing projects between DoCoMo and mobile operators such as KPN Mobile in Holland, Telefonica in Spain, Boygues Telecom in France and KG Telecom in Taiwan. Between 2004 and 2006 he was in charge of all new business in Europe. His previous experience includes consulting and technology research in the United States and Europe.

A visiting lecturer at the University of Oxford, teaching telecommunications and judge in several technology awards programs, including Tech Pioneers of the World Economic Forum in Davos and Mobile Innovation Awards of the GSM Association. Holds M.A.L.D from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy (Tufts University/Harvard). Graduate courses in IT and International Marketing at the Harvard Business School.


LI ZHOU
Based in Hong Kong, Li is the Managing Director of Asia Pacific for Redknee Inc, a leading Canadian software company in providing monetization and personalization solutions to mobile operators around the world.

Li has more than 15 years of experience in various stages along the value chain of telecommunications, from equipment provider, operator, mobile value-added service provider to investor, in both North America and Asia.

Since he moved from Canada to Hong Kong in 1999, Li has served as CEO or COO in companies like First Telecom Asia (FTA), a Hong Kong based telecom whole sale operators; YesMobile, a mobile content provider with operations in Shanghai, Beijing, Taiwan and Hong Kong; New Tech and Telecom (NT&T) Investment Ltd., an firm specialized in investing mobile technology companies in China; and Asia Pacific Media (APM), a television company in Japan.  In some of those, Li succeeded in achieving fast expansions while in other he managed to turnarounds within 6 months after being recruited by the boards.

During his years in Canada between 1990 and 1999, Li was in business development positions for Asia Pacific at hi-tech companies such as Voice and Data Systems (VDS) and Eich Technology.  He also served as consultant at Universalia Management Group to provide strategic and organizational development advice to the Canadian Government, United Nations (UN) and Asia Pacific Economic Conference (APEC).

At his early career from 1986 to 1989, Li was a professor at Remin University of China, teaching International Business Management. 

Li holds an MBA degree from McGill University in Canada and a Bachelor Degree in Economics from  Remin University in China.
